Aronson falls into the trap of using successful films, in hindsight, to justify vague and unsubstantiated theories of structure. How parallel narrative flashback, flash forward, non-linear narratives, multiple plots and ensemble cast structures multiplies your story choices. Not enough practical advice. Like the other reviewer, I am shocked that more people have not posted 5 star reviews for this book. For example, she mentions in passing that more and more people ask her questions about fragmented narratives and multiple protagonist films, challenges to the screenplay orthodoxy of a singular protagonist’s journey against obstacles in pursuit of a goal.
